Working while on vacation is usually frowned upon by a vast majority of people; they take serious measures to disconnect from work while on vacation; however, it depends on the kind of work. As a freelancer, I don't mind working while on vacation because I'm always inspired to create content wherever I go and, of course, to make some passive income while on holiday *wink*.
If you are torn between the feeling of enjoying that long-awaited holiday and getting down to business in a not so business-friendly environment, here are some points to help you make the right decision.
1. Is it worth it? I mean, we have various personal reasons for giong on a vacation, so you might want to consider that before ditching fun for work.
2.How long is the vacation? If it is more of a staycation, you might as well just enjoy your time and get to work when you are home.
3.Do you have all you need to work? For instance, if you don't travel with your work gear, how are you going to work anyway?
4.Will you disappoint anyone? Say, for instance, you go on a vacation with your spouse, family, or friends to have a good time, and all you do throughout is work; well, I don't need to spell out how they might feel.
5.Do you need the extra income. Now, this is based on your situation; you might just need to secure that bag while on vacation, and those with you will be in support.
6.Are you in the right frame of mind? For example, if you feel being alone is the right thing for you on your vacation, that might interfere with your performance. Therefore, it would be wise to either wait until you are in a much better state, get yourself together, and do an excellent job. I wouldn't have delivered good content (in my initial story) if I hadn't recovered fully.
The main purpose of this post is to address personal freelance work or completing a task for your company while on vacation. However, you plan to get a job in another country while on vacation, be sure to get acquainted with the laws of that country.

I always think things through before getting committed to a contract work, especially if I'm out of my comfort zone by asking myself the aforementioned questions.
