Did you know that today, the 19th of March, is World Sleep Day? I didn’t even know something like this existed! At first, I found it amusing, but after thinking about why there’s a need to
celebrate it, I concluded that not everyone has the luxury of benefiting from sleep. What I mean is sleep is important because it should make us feel rested and relaxed; however, not everyone can enjoy the benefits of sleep due to various reasons such as;- Insomnia.
- Stress and anxiety.
- Work.
- Health issues.
- Fear of having bad dreams.
- Your living situation (living with others in the same room).
- Having children, especially when they are still young.
Lack of sleep has been proven to have adverse effects on one’s health; therefore, it’s important to sleep well whenever you can to maintain a healthy lifestyle. According to medical experts, these are some tips that can improve your sleep.
- Put on loose nightwear.
- Dim the lights.
- Sleep in a comfortable bed.
- Stay away from your mobile devices.
- Try to create a sleep routine.
- Think of a peaceful place.
- Avoid heavy meals before bed.
- Speak to a loved one before bedtime.
- Listen to calm music on a low volume level.
- Ensure your room is airy.
