Often, people long for a certain level of admiration, praise, and acknowledgment from others. According to psychology, Maslow's hierarchy of needs makes it normal to crave such
nonetheless, it becomes worrisome when these expectations determine your identity in such a way that you attach your worth and value to them. This may eventually lead to depression, loss of identity, manipulative behavior, and so on.Knowing who we are in Christ makes us appreciate our authentic selves, it is the ultimate validation we need as Christians. The Bible makes us know how much we mean to God, for instance, according to Isaiah 43:4 'Because you are precious in my eyes and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life'.
As Christians, we have the benefit of enjoying a personal relationship with our father. This relationship gives us a new identity which,
- Improves self-esteem and worth.
- Strengths our faith and belief in Him.
- Makes us radiate Joy.
- Gives us peace.
- Is a source of pure and everlasting love.
In conclusion, no matter how the world sees you, God’s love for you is bigger and wider than you can imagine.
