I had quite an interesting coaching session recently, we talked about a wide range of topics but
the one that really stood out was Whatsapp marketing psychology. So, I decided to share the snippets of our session here.Back when I wrote an ebook on self-confidence and had my wig collection, most of my sales were from WhatsApp (and Facebook) so I’d like to share some of the strategies I used. I believe this can be applicable to both sales of goods and services so let’s get right into it.
The reason I chose to use Whatsapp marketing is that it increased the sales of my products in the past and according to research, it’s an effective and convenient way to advertise.
Additionally, it provides the ability to run both web and mobile versions.
Disclaimer: this is a great marketing strategy when your contacts are willing to support your business by either patronizing you or referring you to potential clients. However, you will need to develop your communication and marketing skills.
WhatsApp marketing psychology involves knowing the ABC strategy:
- What ATTRACTS your clients to your products
- The BEHAVIOUR of your clients towards your business
- The CONSISTENCY of your buyers - how often they patronize you.
Being aware of this strategy is the first step in building your business on Whatsapp. Note that there are other versions that support business owners: WhatsApp business App and WhatsApp business API. In order to actualize the ABC strategy listed above, these basic WhatsApp features will be of benefit:
1. Status- Let your contacts be aware of your business from your status.
2. Send out messages to friends- In case they missed the memo on your status.
3. Profile picture- Display your business logo.
4. Ask for referrals- To grow your business.
5. Ask for feedbacks- To be aware of what people are saying about your business.
6. Post feedbacks with the permission of your clients on your status- For others to see what they might be missing.
7. Post a survey (or a link) of your business- To understand your buyers' perception of your business.
8. Post a poll (or a link)- To know your customers' needs.
9. Add new contacts and ask them to add your contact (for WhatsApp)- To stay connected.
10. Be active on social media- Everyone likes to be updated.
11. Remember special occasions of your customers/clients- Always make your customers feel valued and build a bond of emotions. Send personalized messages on special events and festivals.
Further tips:
I’d recommend the WhatsApp business app for small and medium scale business because it offers more useful information to your customers like your business address, description, working hours, email address, and website by creating a business profile.
