5 ways to make money as a Content Writer

I once had a conversation with a coaching client on how to make money from content writing and I will discuss some of the tips I shared with her below.



Self-publish a book: This totally depends on your interest/niche. You can write a book on your personal experiences, a novel, a guide etc. To be honest, there are various topics to write on as long as you are passionate about the book you want to write not just the financial benefit. Also, you could consider writing an eBook as this can conveniently be accessed.

Start a blog: Having a blog helps you reach a large audience, if you publish good contents, you can get calls from people wanting to advertise their products on your blog. I will also advice that you sign up for the google AdSense program (which I have done) and get paid for the ads that are displayed on your bog.
Furthermore, you can make money from your blog by being an affiliate marketing. The best way to know what brand offers the affiliate program is to go on their website, on the bottom of the site you will see affiliate program for you to sign up for or  just think of a brand and google to see if they have this program.

Social Media Management: If you work for a company as a social media manager, you will know that part of your job description is content creation. As a social media manager you will be in charge of creating contents for the company's social media pages, however, you can apply to work as a content writer exclusively which can be done remotely or in the work premises.

Pitch a Guest Post: Now this takes courage, all you need to do is make sure you have a variety of topics at hand and send emails to people who you think may or may not want you to be featured on their website(you can never tell, those you think won't want your post may just want it, don't be scared to ask).

Scripts for skits: This depends on the skits you are writing, the people you are writing for and the conversion rate of your pay but in any case, there are lots of people making skits on Instagram, YouTube and other social media platforms that you can pitch your ideas to.
