Wavy hair is making a comeback ā as James Galvin, KĆ©rastase ambassador, illustrates with his latest twists in hair trends. And not a corkscrew in sightā¦
āWhen it comes to curls, donāt think perfect, think playful,ā says James, which is
why he added some floral fun to this look ā just as Diane von Furstenberg did on her spring/summer 2016 catwalk. If you have straight hair, however, you too can join the wavy movement. āJust remember, if you want to fake it, youāve got to make it with the new generation of products.ā
Wave this way: āBring out natural waves and body with a curl-enhancing mousse,ā says James, āUse a diffuser attachment, and, once dried, go back and define the odd unruly twist with a small tong at the end. Add a summertime accessory for fun.ā Try: Discipline Mousse Curl IdĆ©al, Ā£20.90, KĆ©rastase.
Ahead-of-the-curve tip: āFor a softer wave, use medium-sized tongs in sections all over, pinning curls up to let them cool before brushing out with fingers,ā says James. Finish with Spray Ć Porter, Ā£21, KĆ©rastase.
Join the pony club
The secret to spring/summer 2016 curls is movement. As seen on the Loewe runway, ponytails were left loose and bouncy, so that they swished as the models walked. āItās the attitude that matters more than the finish now,ā says James.
