A 13-year-old boy has been charged with assault with a weapon after allegedly setting a teen girl's hair on fire on a TTC bus last month.
The incident happened on March 30 around 3:30 p.m. in the Windermere Avenue and The Queensway area.
Police say that a teenage girl was riding a TTC bus when she smelled something burning. The girl then
felt the back of her head and some of her hair fell into her hand at which time, she realized someone was burning her hair.

When the bus came to a stop police say the boy got off and fled the scene.
The girl was not seriously injured in the incident and police say the girl and the boy did not know each other.
Police arrested the 13-year-old accused on Friday and he now faces the following charges:
- Assault with a Weapon.
- Uttering Threats.
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance.
The boy appeared in Toronto court on Saturday.
