Katie, 37, had shared the snap on her Instagram page causing a total meltdown as people grappled to copy the look.
But the entrepreneur confirmed that it was all in aid of a photoshoot to promote her new hair range that she is planning to launch.
She explained: "I have actually had my hair cut. But I’m experimenting with my hair at the minute as I’m bringing out a hair range."
Questioning the Loose Women studio audience which hair cut made her look younger, the majority replied "shorter" but Katie believed it was the longer do.
